Kansas City Ballet

Founded in 1957, Kansas City Ballet is a 30-member professional ballet company. Kansas City Ballet offers an eclectic repertory ranging from the traditional classics to exciting contemporary ballets. Through its professional company, its second company (comprised of KCB II and Trainees) and its many community programs, they seek to nurture and develop our artists, audiences and students in the values inherent in the creativity, diversity and joy of dance.

Kansas City Symphony

The Kansas City Symphony is an engaged collaborator with many organizations in the region including their principal partners the Kansas City Symphony Chorus, the Kansas City Ballet, and the Lyric Opera, but extending to the UMKC Conservatory of Music and Dance, the Youth Symphony of Kansas City, University Academy, the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art, the National WWI Memorial, Symphony in the Flint Hills, and others. Committed to education and sharing music with the youth, the Symphony offers a wide variety of programs for students from kindergarten through college.

Mesner Puppet Theater

The Mesner Puppet Theater doesn’t just provide puppet shows, their storytelling reflects the gift of love, the impact of compassion, the result of good behavior and the art of empathy. With workshops that stimulate ideas and stir the imagination, they spread their reach to serve those who are first-time theater goers or are unaware how performing arts can impact lives to help the community thrive and grow!

Starlight Theatre

Starlight Theatre is Kansas City's home for the best Broadway musicals, concerts and unique theatrical shows. A favorite destination for Kansas City residents and visitors since 1950, Starlight Theatre offers a range of live entertainment choices. Guests spend summer evenings under the stars enjoying award-winning Broadway musicals and top concert artists. And in cooler months, they warm up indoors with interactive comedies, family shows and more.

The Coterie

The Coterie Theater in Kansas City is the perfect place to take your family to watch a show that will intrigue all ages. With shows that cover different topics and childhood favorites, you’re guaranteed to find something for everyone. With a great location at Crown Center, you can also find places to eat and things to look at before or after the show.

The Rep

Founded in 1964, Kansas City Repertory Theatre is nearing its golden anniversary as one of the country’s premier regional theatres. Serving as the professional theatre in residence at the University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC), the Rep produces mainstage plays and special events at Spencer Theatre on the UMKC campus, located just east of the Country Club Plaza. Kansas City Rep’s ingenious work is created by more than 250 professional artists, technicians and administrators. Each year Rep productions serve more than 100,000 patrons from a five-state region.

Theatre for Young America

At the Theatre For Young America, you can watch several different kinds of productions that are guaranteed to encourage educational and emotional growth of young people through arts-based experiences. TYA has over 200 productions including dozens of new and commissioned plays based on classic children’s literature, historical figures and current social issues to entertain all audience members.
